Dairy sector leader and inaugural member of the Riddet Institute’s Board of Governance, Professor Hill has more than 30 years working in and for the dairy industry, with the vital role dairy plays in human nutrition and the promotion of sustainability in food production among his many interests.  He has held many senior research and development roles, as well as developing strategic partnerships between industry and research.  With a PhD in biochemistry, Professor Hill is an inventor of several patents, and has published over 100 academic papers and book chapters. He represents Fonterra on the editorial board of the International Journal of Dairy Technology and was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the dairy industry and scientific research in 2020.
