HVN Science of Food Webinar Series: Innovation in Fruit Commodities


The Riddet Institute and HVN National Science Challenge hosts a series of free online seminars to support high-value nutrition export success.

On May 18, 2022, the Riddet Institute hosted a quick-fire, lunch and learn 30-minute HVN Science of Food webinar – the first of a series exploring IP trends and insights in the functional food space.

Dr Peter Brown, Principal at Spruson gave a snap-shot of the recent patent landscape of all things fruit related with a focus on health outcomes, and how we can leverage the learnings here in New Zealand for our export market.

Regulatory Consultant Michelle Cubitt took a virtual trip around the world and looked at the similarities and differences in relevant food regulations between New Zealand and key international markets.
