She provides strategic advice to navigate complexities of regulatory requirements to enable successful product commercialisation/export across the world. Michelle aims to deliver simple, smart solutions to the regulatory problems facing businesses trying to reach their target consumers across the world.
Senior Adviser Food Claims – New Zealand Food Safety, MPI
Donnell works closely with a range of food manufacturers and exporters to provide advice about meeting the regulatory requirements for food labelling and promotion. Within the Food Science Team, she coordinates the scientific assessment of dossiers of evidence for self-substantiated general level health claims against the requirements of the Australia and New Zealand Food Standards Code, for the New Zealand jurisdiction. She works closely with other Australian jurisdictions in interpreting and implementing aspects of the common Standard for Nutrition, Health and Related Claims (Standard 1.2.7) and other nutrition-related food regulations.
