Assitant Professor Gail M. Bornhorst (University of California, Davis) has recently become Riddet Institute's newest Associate Investigator. Although Gail studied and works at UC Davis, USA, she is no stranger to Riddet, having spent several months here as a visiting scholar and conducting part of her PhD studies here.
Gail specialises in Biological & Agricultural Engineering, as well as Food Science and Technology, and has a specific interest in gastric digestion. Her research particularly focuses on food breakdown processes, development of in vitro models, and physiological mixing and transport processes.
With numerous publications and successful grant applications to her name, we are certainly pleased to have her as part of our team.
